LODGING The Symposium location is The Williamsburg Lodge. With a short walk you step back into the 18th century and stroll through 90 acres of original and reconstructed public buildings, private homes, taverns, and shops set within public greens and gardens. The Lodge guest rooms and suites are new or newly renovated in 2006 with furnishings inspired by the collections of the Abbey Aldrich Rockefeller Folk Art Museum and include modern amenities, such as high-speed internet connectivity. Recreation at The Lodge includes golf, outdoor pools, tennis, croquet, and lawn bowling. Enjoy The Spa of Colonial Williamsburg’s all-new 20,000-square-foot setting that includes a fitness center, indoor pool, treatment rooms, hair and nail salon, dressing rooms with whirlpools, and lounge/dining areas. Room rates are $140 for a Superior* room or $180** for a Deluxe room. Quoted rates do not include 10% sales tax or $2 per room, per night occupancy tax (subject to change). Lodging is also available in Colonial Houses within the historic area. The Colonial Houses are furnished with authentic period reproductions and antiques. Rates vary with type of lodging. Rooms have been reserved at the Woodlands Hotel at the US Federal Government per diem rate. US Federal Government ID is required. The Woodlands is approximately one mile from The Lodge where the symposium and events will take place. All the above lodging rates include admission tickets to the main portion of the Colonial Williamsburg attractions for the duration of your stay. Each guestroom features an iron and ironing board, coffee maker, enclosed television, digital clock radio and high-speed internet connection. Amenities include full service fitness center and spa treatments by appointment (for a fee), complimentary parking garage (underground), casual dining and a lounge available, outdoor pool, laundry valet and shoeshine services and bathrobes. Daily maid service is provided and turndown is by request. Additional items are available upon request. LODGING POLICY Rates are available three (3) days before and after the HVIS Symposium. All reservations must be accompanied by a one night’s deposit for room and tax. Deposits are refundable provided notice of cancellation is received by Colonial Williamsburg at least five (5) days prior to arrival. Close of business is 5:00 pm local time. Reservations may be charged to Discover, Visa, MasterCard, American Express, and Diner’s Club. Credit card deposits are charged at the time the reservation is made. After Monday, August 6, 2007, all rooms not secured with a one night’s deposit will be released to Colonial Williamsburg’s reservation office for resale. Reservation requests made after the cut-off date will be confirmed on a space and rate available basis. |
