The Hypervelocity Impact Society (HVIS) organizing committee wishes to deliver a personal invitation for your company to attend and exhibit your products/services at the 15th Hypervelocity Impact Symposium being held on April 14-19, 2019 in Destin, Florida USA at the award-winning Hilton Sandestin Beach Golf Resort and Spa, located in the Destin-Miramar Beach area on the Gulf of Mexico. The Symposium is a biennial event that serves as the principal forum for the discussion, interchange, and presentation of the physics of high- and hypervelocity impact and related technical areas. It is intended for scientists, engineers, and technical managers from academia, industry, government, and defense programs. The HVIS Symposia have a long-standing international reputation as a catalyst for stimulating research in this area through a wealth of oral and poster presentations, and commercial exhibits. The Symposium's proceedings are the major archival source of papers published in this field.

This exclusive international conference in the field of hypervelocity phenomenology (from launchers, diagnostics, and material response to high velocity penetration, planetary defense technology, and more) attracts over a hundred attendees from a wide variety of countries, and institutions. The Hypervelocity community is heavily dependent on state of the art, high-speed data capture systems, complex analysis programs, and supporting capabilities with expertise and consultancy playing a major role.

This year the society is promising newer program and advertising technologies than that used on any previous HVIS symposia! We are looking forward to having you attend and provide sponsorship. The website, http://www.hvis.org/symposium.htm will soon be updated for registration and a formal letter will be sent to those interested in attending and presenting their technical and related products.

The hotel reservation sites are now open! We have secured a block rooms at heavily discounted rates at the Hilton Sandestin and at adjacent properties on the Sandestin Resort. A block of rooms will be offered at the Hilton on the beachfront for US Government attendees at the per diem rate of $162/night. Room rates for non-Government start at $219/night. These rates are valid April 14-19, 2019. A credit card is required to reserve the room, but the deposit of one night’s stay will not be charged to your credit card until January 31, 2019. We kindly request that you do not reserve a US Government rate room unless you qualify for this rate.

Please contact Bill Reinhart (wdreinh@sandia.gov) with additional questions and to express interest in attending. And if you are on this email distribution and do not want further announcements or if you want another name added, please do not hesitate to contact me.

We hope you will join us for this exciting event.
